Clopen
Mic Night

Clopen Mic Night #4: Chestnuts Roasting on a Clopen Fire will take place on Tuesday 19th December from 8-9pm (UK time). You will be able to watch the show live or watch a recording of the show for a limited time on the Clopen Mic YouTube channel.

The show is free to watch, but we support our performers and pay our behind-the-scenes team for their work, so if you’d like to make a contribution - for example, as much as you’d pay for a ticket to a show - you can do so at any time by visiting ko-fi.com/clopenmicnight or paypal.me/tmipuk.

A list of all our past shows, with links to line-ups can be found here.

Line-up for Clopen Mic Night #4: Chestnuts Roasting on a Clopen Fire

Katie Steckles

Katie Steckles is a mathematician based in Manchester, who gives talks and workshops and writes about mathematics. She finished her PhD in 2011, and since then has talked about maths in schools, at science festivals, on BBC radio and TV, at music festivals, as part of theatre shows and on the internet.

Luna Kirkby

A recovering game developer, Luna now spends her time fighting demons on the moon. When she's not busy writing a speaker bio of questionable legitimacy, she spends her time making art with code, disassembling old video games, and researching the utterly inconsequential.

Tanya Fish

Tanya is an educator of too many varieties, can’t say no to a fascinating adventure, and is convinced that they’ll come back as a ghost because they have so many unfinished projects.

Affelia Wibisono

Affelia is a science communicator specialising in astronomy. Having worked in Science Communication for a decade at various science centres and museums, they recently completed a PhD in Planetary Science. They use space telescopes and spacecraft as part of their research to investigate how and why Jupiter produces intense X-ray northern and southern lights. Affelia has written for the Guardian and NASA, and done TV interviews for Sky News and ITV, as well as performing at festivals through the UK.

James Munro

James does maths outreach professionally on YouTube for the University of Oxford, and unprofessionally on Twitch for fun.
